Thanking Managing Director Nicole Taylor

Updated: May 14, 2020

It is with a mix of sadness and gratitude that we announce that after eight years with the ILF, Managing Director Nicole Taylor will be leaving to take on new challenges. We are deeply grateful to Nicole for the passion, experience and wisdom she brought to the ILF’s defense of the poor and vulnerable around the world.

“Nicole provided essential leadership through a period of incredible growth and change for the ILF, including our expansion in Asia, the Middle East, and North Africa," said Executive Director Jennifer Smith. "In addition to her role in building our very strong program team, Nicole has been key to the development of the ILF’s reputation, with both governments and NGOs around the world, as a go-to adviser on criminal legal aid.”

Nicole also played a significant role in the design of Measuring Justice, a groundbreaking tool – now cited by many – that sets out global standards for the provision of quality legal aid services.

In her new job, Nicole will be fulfilling a lifelong interest, working in education, with a focus on increasing diversity of the student populations at colleges and universities.

We are proud of Nicole for her commitment to this mission and have no doubt that she will have a tremendous positive influence in her new role. We are also happy to say that she will continue to be involved with the ILF in volunteer roles. Please join us in thanking her and wishing her the best of luck.
