Palestine
In 2009, the ILF began developing a project in the West Bank at the request of the European Union Police Mission for the Palestinian Territories (EUPOL COPPS), a civilian mission to rebuild the police force and advise on criminal justice matters in the West Bank and Gaza. In September 2010, the ILF opened its first office in Ramallah. Since then, we’ve grown to serve clients in eleven governorates.

Justice for Children in Palestine

In Palestine, approximately 45% of the population is under the age of 18. The majority of our clients are juveniles.
The work of public defenders is key to protecting children and youth who are especially susceptible to trauma in the criminal justice system. Our work in Palestine centers on early intervention, mediation, and diversion.
