New Program Director: New York City

The ILF seeks a Program Director to lead the ILF’s long-term efforts to build a culture of defense, primarily through the day-by-day, case-by-case mentoring of local legal aid lawyers. The Program Director will be expected to supervise, support, and mentor the management teams at the ILF’s country offices, both on-site and long-distance; develop effective litigation strategies to advance the rights of the criminally accused; and represent the ILF globally, including at conferences and other advocacy forums. The ideal candidate will have appellate and public defender experience and the ability and willingness to travel to post-conflict/transitional countries, including for extended periods of time.
