The International Legal Foundation (ILF), a not-for-profit organization based in downtown Brooklyn, New York, was created 10 years ago for the purpose of setting up public defender systems in post-conflict countries. With projects in the West Bank, Nepal and Afghanistan, it currently has 250 employees worldwide.
